Erich-Wolfgang Hartzsch (* 1952) studied painting and graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Dresden and was a member of the dissident art scene in the GDR. He collaborated with Andreas Hartzsch, Frank Rassbach, Gitte Hähner-Springmühl and Klaus Hähner-Springmühl in the Kartoffelschälmaschine group from 1980 onward and took part in numerous happenings and performances. The MdbK is, for the first time, showing twelve of his previously unreleased Super 8 experimental films and photo series’ from the 1980s.
