Open Call MdbK [next;raum] #02
The MdbK [next;raum], established in 2022 and located in the room group of the Renaissance on the first floor, invites new ways of participation and dialogue. Together with representatives of public society, the collections, their presentation and mediation are to be critically questioned. The MdbK [next;raum] is a place for ongoing discussions, learning and experimenting together, for presenting and mediating.
MdbK [next;raum]
Following last year's MdbK [next;raum] #01, which dealt with the topic of Sex_Gender in the MdbK, MdbK [next;raum] #02 Verlernen | Lernen _ Unlearning | Learning will start in January 2023 with a new topic as well as a new group. Within the framework of the collaboration - ten workshops are planned over the course of the year - criteria and concepts such as class, racism, discrimination, but also aspects of the museum are to be analysed, reflected upon and "unlearned". The internal project group includes the director, a curator, a diversity agent and two art mediators. People from the Leipzig area - age, origin and nationality, gender and gender identity, religion and world view, sexual orientation and identity as well as social origin are not decisive for selection can get in touch if they are interested in working on the second MdbK [next;raum] at the MdbK.

Vorher / Nachher
Evelyn Richter hat viele Fotos von Kindern aufgenommen: Beim Spielen, beim Lesen, im Alltag. Gemeinsam entdecken wir die Fotos: Bei welchen Motiven finden wir uns wieder und wo sind Unterschiede zu erkennen? Wie erleben wir Zeit – was war vor einem Jahr und was ist heute, was hat sich verändert? Ausgehend von den Fotos gestalten wir selbst kurze Sequenzen, in denen es ein Vorher und Nachher gibt.
Fernweh
Wir schauen uns in der Ausstellung Evelyn Richters künstlerische Arbeiten von Landschaften, Städten und unbekannten Orten an. Die meisten Fotos sind in schwarz-weiß. Brauchen wir Farbe, um glücklich zu sein? Vielleicht in Form von Blumenwiesen, Wasser, Schnee oder Sonne? Gemeinsam träumen wir von traumhaften Orten: Wir schnipseln und kleben eigene Traumlandschaften in Form von bunten Collagen zusammen.
